Arthemia Premium is magazine style theme for WordPress. Arthemia is unleashing the power of WordPress to become a simple-yet-powerful CMS (content management system) with the automatic thumbnail generation feature and theme administration panel. The Theme Walk-Through

The header part of the theme consists a small logo and a wide area for 728×90 advertisement space. Below, we have a nice drop-down navigation bar which displays pages that we have in our blog. To the right of the navigation bar, there is a search box and a magnifier icon.

Below the bar, there are the headline and featured section. The black box on the left will display one headline post of your blog and a short excerpt of the post. Excerpts can be added manually per post or taken automatically from the first 55 words of the post. There are two different layout for the headline section, you can see both live here and here. The featured section, located on the right, rotates a number of featured posts along with their thumbnails. Number of rotating posts can be defined from the theme admin panel.

Below those sections is the category bar. This colorful category bar will display five of your blog’s category along with the description of each category. To the left-bottom of the category bar, there is one big section that will display the content of your latest post. Below the latest post, there is a post listing which has a 2-column/1-column layout, each of which can be set from the theme admin panel. To the right of the post listing is the sidebar and category spoilers. These colorful category spoilers will display the latest post from its category and just below those spoilers are the normal blog-like widgets. You can add whatever widget you like there, just like usual WordPress blogs.

There are also a video section and random post section at the bottom of the page. The video section will display your latest video blog post and the video can be played right away from the front page. To the right of the video section is the random post section that will display 12 random posts of your blog, each of which is displayed in the thumbnail form. Just above the footer section, there are 3-column of favorite post lists and you can add ‘sidebar’ widgets here as well.

The Main Features

If you are running an online magazine, a corporate website, or even a personal blog, Arthemia Premium is your one-stop answer for your all needs.

  1. Theme Administration Panel.
    You’ve got no idea about PHP, (X)HTML, and CSS? Don’t worry about all the complicated commands and manage everything from the theme administration panel. You can assign images for header logo, bookmark (favorite) icon, categories for headline and featured section, categories to be shown in the category bar, latest posts from each category, thumbnail sizes, show/hide post excerpts, and all.
  2. Category Color Assignment.
    You can assign colors to each of your blog category and stand out with your own styling. Colorful, duotone, grayscale, you name it. And again, no need to edit the stylesheet template. You can style the color to match your liking or simply customize it to match your logo color tone. Simply add the Web hex color values to the category color setting in the theme admin panel and, voila, your website, a new look.
  3. Auto-Thumbnail Your Old Posts.
    Seriously, please forget the time-consuming thumbnail generation with Photoshop, forget WordPress Post Custom Fields. Thumbnails across the theme will be assigned and generated automatically as requested, for every image sizes. You don’t need to spend your valuable time creating the thumbnail images but purely focus to your website content. Both automatic and via-custom-field assignment are available.
  4. Banner & Adsense Management.
    You can configure ad banners on your website. Simply upload, assign, and add hyperlinks. In addition, you can get your Google Adsense banners displayed, hassle-free. Complete your Adsense account information in the theme administration panel and your Adsense will be on your website, in one click. Provided ad spots are 728×90 leaderboard banner, 468×60 banner, and 300×250 rectangle banner.
  5. Easy Customizations.
    You can also customize the look of your pages. Show or hide headline spoilers, colorful category bar, category spoilers, and video/random post gallery with a single click. If you don’t need any of those features, simply turn it off to suit your liking. The theme panel is designed to make all users, both novice and advanced users, experience the ease of customizations without getting any CSS/XHTML problem.
  6. Google-friendly Website.
    In addition to the integration of Google ad service: Adsense, Arthemia Premium provides you another in-depth integration with Google Analytics, the best and the most reliable web statistics, and with Google Feedburner, a feed and podcast management, giving you a better control of your RSS feeds. Feeds are automatically redirected and Google Analytics code is optimized to give you the best performance.

      bisa-bisa aja sih. jadi ke-8 post di kiri di-exclude agar tidak ditampilkan di kotak warna-warni kanan apabila post itu sudah ditampilkan di listing kiri. walaupun pada beberapa kasus, kotak warna-warni kanan bisa kehilangan esensi dasarnya sebagai kotak yang menampilkan latest post from each category. kebingungan akan muncul apabila pembaca membuka halaman kedua, ketiga, dst di blog tsb karena content di kotak warna-warni itu akan berubah-ubah isinya.

      atau logikanya dibalik.. latest posts yang ditampilkan di kotak warna-warni kanan tidak lagi ditampilkan di listing kiri. tapi itu juga akan menghilangkan esensi listing kiri sebagai listing blog konvensional yang menampilkan post secara sequential menurut waktu.

      hahahaha.. :grin:

      tapi kayanya alternatif yang kedua tuh lebih logis. dan kotak warna-warni akan memiliki content yang tetap di tiap halaman. apalagi duplikasi sangat besar kemungkinannya untuk terjadi pada halaman awal, halaman yang paling banyak dikunjungi oleh para pengunjung..

      btw bukan Jubel ya? siapa sih yang maintain blog ini? hahahaha..

    Hi Micaheal,

    I have the premium theme installed. I’m stuck on one point. I ahve selected square images for my headline section and I use First Image in the post.

    The problem I’m having is with the resizing of the image in the headline section. It stretches my image so badly that it look distorted.

    I have tried uploading a larger image than the default 150 x 150 thumbnail size, but that just cuts the head or the feet off my subject.

    You’re really the last resort, s I’ve been trying to get this right for my client for two days.

    I’m also trying to get a YouTube video to show up in the “latest video post” in the footer, but all I get is a link.

    1. I created a category called Videos
    2. I grabbed the YT video embedding code
    3. I pasted it inside the html view of the post I created.
    4. I assigned the post to the Videos category.
    5. Video shows up in the post but not in the ‘latest video posts” footer.

      Please post further questions in the forum. Anyway:

      That means you need to upload larger image. It needs to be more than 200px wide x 225px tall.

      That’s because the script automatically crop the image from the center point so that the result will still have its proportional size (height to width). I suggest you to upload an image with exactly 200px wide x 225px tall in size so you’ll know what exactly the thumbnail look like.

      Of course. Please read the readme.pdf. It is well explained there that you need to add a custom Field named “Video”. Please read the manual.

    1- Do you offer any support with the premium version? Ie; some help customising categories so that The H1 element matches the colours of the category??

    2- Is the ptremium theme compatible with the new WP 2.7 release? and does it allow the new features of threaded comments etc?

      Anyway, have you checked your spam folders for notification e-mail? I’ve just rechecked the forum and found everything working properly as it should be; I even tried to register. :)
      And we only provide installation and configuration support for the premium theme. If you need any modification, you’ll need to discuss that in the forum.

      Arthemia Premium is compatible with the new WP 2.7 release.

      Hi, we’re working on it. It seems that Platinum SEO Plugin does not support themes with query_posts(); command. Weird, though. But, let’s see what we can do.

    I tried and tried and tried….
    if i use Arthemia Prem. off-line with easyphp 2.0, i have some problems as to see the changes and the thumbnails in the right position I need to re-start the PC. but in this case it works.
    If I try it on the web, i’m working trough ‘altervista.org’ nothing to do, the pictures are only in the post but nothing in the thumbnails on the featured neither headline or random post.

    what is happening?

    I have your fantastic free version of Arthemia and find it very well done. I have a couple of question and will be upgrading as soon as I finish playing with it ;)

    These are related to the Full Version

    1. Can it be made to look like the Free version? I like much of the style and don’t want to go too far from that.

    2. Do you have a way to paginate comments with this theme? I have tried a WP Plug in comment paginator with Arthemia and didn’t have much luck in keeping things nice looking as it seemed to mess with some of the display of comments since not integrated with the theme.

    I tried this on Arthemia Free with WP2.71-

    I like this theme, i really do but have had some problems implementing certain things in this theme. for examole, ad tags…Are we not allowed to have ad tags from other companies except for google? I am working with an adnetwork and they require that i put ad tags on the site but my adtags won’t show! Please help me. Also, forums don’t help and you are very hard to reach:) This is very important to me! Please help!

    We’re currently using the free version of Arthemia. Before upgrading I had a question though. Right now, when a featured post gets bumped our the featured section, it basically leaves the front page. Is there a way to make it so that when it gets bumped it automatically shows up in the lower section of the page as a regular post?

    I’m purchasing the premium theme and noticed on the order page it asks you to type the URL of your web site. Will it make instant changes to the URL once the theme is downloaded? I am upgrading a site that’s already set-up under a domain that will not change. Just making sure once I download it, the theme won’t instantly switch over.

    Michael, I have ran into a bit of a snag. My RSS was opening up an older blog that I no longer have at FeedBurner. Now, I tried to set up a new FeedBurner for my site, and it will not accept the site. The stated reason is that there are two blank lines above the code. I have tried to find this code to no avail. It seems that Arthemia redirects the RSS and I cannot find where the redirect goes.

    All I need is the blog address to type in at FeedBurner so that it will recognize my RSS. Any suggestions?

    I have been trying to use the free Arthemia, and am considering giving up and purchasing the premium version. First, can you tell me if I can find the solution to my problem with the premium version? My main issue is changing the color scheme and I cannot get photos to show up on the home page, aka the thumbnails attached to the headline and featured posts.

    I know zero CSS, so I am kind of going nuts. The problems I listed above, will they be obsolete if I spring the 70 bucks? Thanks for your help.

    hi, Is arthemia premium compatible with the latest wordpress 2.9.2, and ie8? I was trying to use arthemia free, then when i upgraded to 2.9.2, i have problems with keepng widget staying, so i wonder if this will happen to arthemia premium?
    as arthemia premiun is seo optimized, do i need to do some seo myself? if yes, what widget/plug-in will you suggest to use, as it might be not compatible?
    in premium version, does post page have social icons (facebook, digg, etc.) like free version does?
    forgive me if i sound like a fool, i am the very novice here. so i think arthemia premium propbably will spare me all these hassles.

    Hi, I really like this theme and in fact I already purchased it few hours ago.

    But I just some minor glitches, some of my thumbnails are not showing. And the random posts only shows few photos and not 10 as it is in the sample.

    And the Page Text at the bottom doesn’t show.

    I am trying to post videos and isn´t possible. I follow all the steps in the readme file and nothing works.
    1) I created a Custom field called “Video”
    2) I put the right cod of youtube like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY0lgItbbwE

    And still nothing…..i can see the player but this i can´t play the video, because it´s no exist….

    What can i do?

    I’m also trying to get a YouTube video to show up in the “latest video post” in the footer, but all I get is a link.

    1. I created a category called Videos
    2. I pasted it inside the html view of the post I created.
    3. I assigned the post to the Videos category.
    4. Video shows up in the post but not in the ‘latest video posts” footer.

    Why is this happening? Can you advise me on this issue?

    Michael, is there a way to not have to manually check and uncheck the box to make a post first appear in the top-left Featured spot, then have it move down with the other posts when it is replaced?

    Specifically:
    To make a post the one in the top-left of the site, you have to check the box called Features. Then when a new post is launched and should go in that spot, the old featured story disappears, and is replaced by the new one, but the old one doesn’t show up in the area below with all of the other posts. To make it show up there, you have to manually uncheck the Features box.

    In our blog, we schedule posts in advance, but we don’t want the top blog to disappear altogether when the next scheduled blog launches and gets that top spot. We want the older one to show in the blog posts below. But we want that to happen without having to touch it every time.

    Is there a way to do that?

    I have tried my damned hardest to get this theme to work and its just not a) showing random posts and b) showing video at the bottom.

    So how do I remove that section all together as it makes my site look less professional?

    i have a problem regarding page. After click on page 5 and above, there is “Error 404 – Not Found”. i have tried to change or remove my pagenavi plugin but the problem still exists.

    Any idea how to solve this?

    I got a problem with the tumbnails at frontpage.

    Theme all of a sudden stopped to work. No tumbnails after a sertain date is visiable.

    Michael, we’re considering using Arthemia Premium. Are we allowed to remove credit links in the footer with the Arthemia Premium Single Licence? Better: can I get the licence agreement? And is Arthemia Premium compatible with IE6?

    Hi there. I cannot seem to add the spoiler widgets. I have chosen category spoilers from the theme options page but when I go to appearance > widgets i am give no options. Is this normal or am I missing something really obvoius?!

    1.: Can i add advert banners on to the site..I am asking because I didnt see it on the demo.
    2.: I am going to use it on a test server and then move it to the new host. Is my license valid for that…

      Yes, you can add banners. And the license is also valid for such a purpose. And of course, you can add more categories.
