Changes to Affiliate Commission: New Performance Bonus
This is something that took us some time to decide because it will have pretty significant effect to you as our affiliate. After much thought, we have come up with some changes to ColorLabs Affiliate Program:
- Minimum Payment Threshold
- Performance Bonus
These changes will come into force on June 1, 2012 and the first payout that’s affected by these new rules will be on July 15, 2012, which is the payout for commissions generated in June 2012. The upcoming payout on June 15, 2012, which is for commissions generated in May 2012, is not affected by these changes.
Minimum Payment Threshold
Affiliates must earn a minimum affiliate account balance of $50 or more before their account is eligible for payment. Balance less than $50 will remain pending for payment until the full $50 minimum balance has been earned. Affiliates are not allowed to opt-in for pending payout voluntarily.
The main reason that we require a minimum payment amount is to protect ourselves from customers who sign up as an affiliate just to save money on our themes.
By making the minimum payment threshold higher than the amount that would be earned as the commission from one sale, we can drastically reduce the number of fraudulent affiliate purchases by people who just want to save a few bucks. We’d love to give discounts, and in fact we do this very frequently, but we also want to do it the right way, which is through deals that we regularly publish.
We take care of our affiliates and look after them so well. We make relationship with them and collaborate on many occasions. We simply don’t want that effort of ours to go in vain.
Performance Bonus
We would like our affiliate program to succeed, and in order for the program to succeed you need to succeed. So, to help motivate you to be successful we will be offering additional bonuses to all our affiliates based on exceptional performance.
Now on top of the 25%-of-sales commission, you will also get an additional 25%-of-commission bonus, that we call the Performance Bonus, as long as your cumulative earning in the past 25 days is above $250.
If you normally get $12.25 for each Standard Pack sales, you’ll then start to get $15.31, once you’ve generated at least $250 in the past 25 days. If you normally get $24.75 for each Developer Pack sales, you’ll then start to get $30.94. Bottom line, as long as you keep generating $250 of commission in the past 25 days, you’ll get the Performance Bonus.
We believe that these changes will greatly improve your experience and conversions too. If you have any questions or concerns, you can feel free to reach out to us or write a comment below.
