Coming this Week: A New Photoblog and Portfolio Theme

http://colorlabs.co/KBwxrn

We are going to release another Child Theme for Backbone Framework. The new Child Theme will be released by the end of this week and it will be a photoblog/portfolio WordPress theme. We haven’t really decided on the name yet, so if you have any idea feel free to write it down on the comment. :)

The main purpose of the upcoming Child Theme is to showcase photography, so we keep the graphics and distracting imagery to a minimum and only use neutral colors to maintain the focus on the pictures. The theme has white background color that works with all your photos, letting the photography steal the show.

The Child Theme will be well structured for search engines to give your photoblog/portfolio more traffic, more interaction, more exposure and ultimately more success.

If you are a photographer and already have beautiful images to start with, stay-tuned to ColorLabs blog update for the official launch of this Backbone Child Theme.

just to get a tech update… what is a child theme and what is a backbone framework? and how do these work together?

The parent theme (Backbone framework) acts as a base for the child theme. How it works is the parent theme contains the programming that creates the function and features of your site while the child theme contains the images and styles that form the base for your site’s layout and design.

To make it simple Backbone framework (parent theme) is the cell phone, and the child theme is the case you hold it in. You’ll always use the same phone, but if you want to change the way it looks on the outside, you put a cover on it to make it look different. The same holds true with a child theme – as that is what “decorates” the way your theme looks.
