Are you having a trip backpacking trip around the world? Living overseas and want to share your stories to friends and families back home? Whether you choose to write a personal travel diary updating your experiences while you’re on the road, or a more practical, informative, and useful travel blog then you have to check out this new premium WordPress theme. Travelous will be the perfect WordPress theme for you.

Travelous, a travel blog WordPress themeWhen Travelous was still in development process, we did some research and couldn’t help but notice the pickings out there for a decent travel blog design are pretty slim. Having found that out we worked our best to come out with a travel blog theme that will answer the needs of all kinds of travelers, backpackers, or soon-to-be travelers or backpackers. Not only that, but also a WordPress theme that is worthy to be your first choice.

Two Post Types

Travelous has two post types, ‘Stories’ and ‘Reviews’. Use the ‘Stories’ post type to share your adventure overseas and use the ‘Reviews’ post type to write reviews of restaurants that you have visited before. The ‘Reviews’ post type also come along with a rating system, so your visitor can rate your reviews, and you can show the top rated ones on sidebar using Top Reviews widget.

A little tip: one way to monetize your travel blog is by offering a review service to restaurants where they feed you and you offer a private or public review.

Google Maps Integration

Travelous theme also comes with neat Google Maps integration allowing you to geo-tag posts with locations and displays your recent travels on widgetized maps. A very handy feature for your stories and reviews. Write your stories or reviews address and have Google maps automatically do the rest to show you the location you mention in your stories and reviews. Also adding Google Maps integration can offer visitors a more interactive experience of your website.

Stunning Gallery

When you are travelling, you must take lot of photos. Unusual photo opportunities or simple photos like signs, transport, someone carrying a backpack or eating food. Travelous will round all those photos up on the Gallery. The Gallery comes with AJAX effect which will show all your photos without loading your page. Not only that it is perfect for a personal blog but you can even have fun and turn it into your photography portfolio and to show off their photos and galleries in a stylish fashion.

    Hello!

Great theme! Before purchasing this nice piece of work, I’m having some questions.
Is it possible to include a classic blog style, like one post after another one. And it should also have a sidebar inside the blog view.

Furthermore I would like to know if it is possible to customize the start page. Can I use widgets there? For example replace the “last reviews” with a about me text widget.

Can I use the slider for the latest articles as well? I mean the stories instead of reviews.

    Thanks!

      Hi @google-adc48486166eb7638781cdcb7468bd52:disqus !

Right now, Travelous does have a blog style. If you click on the “Stories” and “Reviews” menu, it will roundup all post under each post type. But it doesn’t have sidebar. But that’s a good suggestion. You should put it on our Feedback Forum on http://colorlabs.uservoice.com, so others can also vote for it, and we’ll add it to our to-do list.

The home page is wigetize-able, so you can customize the content as you like it. And you can have the latest posts of either ‘Stories’ or ‘Reviews’ post type to be shown on the slider.

      Hope this answer your questions.
