Installing AffiliateBoard
1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance → Themes section
- Switch to Install Themes tab
- Select Upload
- Browse for affiliateboard.zip file on your computer and install it
- Activate AffiliateBoard theme

2. Installing via FTP
- Open your FTP Client Application (example : FileZilla)
- Fill the login details (host, username, and password), then press quick connect
- Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
- Go to ‘themes’ folder
- Extract affiliateBoard.zip files into your local drive and search the current location and upload AffiliateBoard folder
Got an error during installation process? Try the following:
- If you are upgrading the vidio theme via WordPress Admin menu, open your ‘affiliateBoard.zip’ and rename the ‘affiliateBoard’ folder before uploading. Eg: affiliateboard2. Then press Enter
- Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
- Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL
Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)
Theme Overview
AffiliateBoard is not like other WordPress theme which have it’s own front page. At AffiliateBoard theme you can choose your own front page based on page, this theme also oriented on affiliate post type. But you can also write a normal post type.
Create Affiliate Post
To create an affiliate post type you can go to WordPress dashboard → Affiliate → Add New Affiliate
- After typing the title of you affiliate post type, you can write the description like usual post type
- Video Embed Code: You can insert video embed code from Youtube or Vimeo. This video will appear on affiliate single post and also at Squeeze affiliate page template
- Custom Settings: This custom setting will appear only at affiliate single post. You can set the header, footer, pop-up message, e-mail, testimonial(s) and also mark your affiliate as the best value deals (best value deals mark will appear only on affiliate page template)
- Pop Up Message: You can insert pop-up message here. The text area is the same as post text area so you can use HTML view and typing any HTML code here
- Testimonials: To create a testimonial you can click on ‘add item’ button first then fill the information like title (this will be the name of people who write the testimonial) and testimonial words.
- Header Setting: If you enable header at affiliate post type (point #3) so you can insert affiliate logo, post title and post tagline
- Footer Text: You can also typing custom footer credits here. In this text box, you can insert any HTML tags
Affiliate Page Template
As we explained before at theme overview, if AffiliateBoard can have its own frontpage so we add this feature to be able to add an affiliate post type as your front page.
There are 3 available affiliate page templates: grid style, list style and squeeze style. All of them have their own design and have the same feature. What you have to do with this page template is add your affiliate post type to this page template.
Grid Affiliate Page Template
To set up this page template, please follow these instructions:
To create a page template, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Pages → Add New Page
- Affiliate Intro Text: After typing the page title, you can type the affiliate page intro here. This affiliate page intro is not displayed as an excerpt so to make it beautiful don’t insert any image(s) or embed video on it.
- Page Template: Choose ‘affiliate’ as the template
- Affiliate Template: Choose ‘style grid’ as affiliate template
- Affiliate Items: After you create an affiliate post type before, you can choose it here. Your affiliate post type will be displayed here as an option list. To set it you can select your affiliate post type then click on ‘add item’ button to be proceed. At Grid affiliate page template the maximum items is 3
- Extra Settings: Same as affiliate post type, here you can choose to display custom header, custom footer and custom pop-up
- Header Settings: If you choose to use custom header, you can set it here. You can insert custom page logo, custom page title, and custom tagline
- Pop Up Setting: You can insert your pop-up message here. This text area is the same as usual post text area so you can use HTML view to write your message
- Footer Setting: You can insert a custom footer credit here. At this text box you can also type any HTML tags
- ColorLabs SEO Settings: This feature will be activated automatically and will be deactivated if any SEO plugin are installed. At this setting, you can set SEO_follow (allow search engines to follow any available links on this page) and SEO_noIndex (prevent search engines from indexing this page)
List Affiliate Page TemplateTo set up this page template, please follow this instructions:
- Affiliate Intro Text: After typing the page title, you can type the affiliate page intro here. This affiliate page intro is not displayed as an excerpt. So to make it beautiful don’t insert any image(s) or embed video on it.
- Page Template: Choose ‘affiliate’ as the template
- Featured Items: You can insert custom featured items, this featured items will explained what feature that your affiliate has. The items will be displayed as a list. To create it first you have to type the headline feature title then a simple description about it. After that, you can click on ‘add item’ button to expand item content
- Affiliate Template: Choose ‘style list’ as affiliate template
- Affiliate Items: After you create an affiliate post type before, you can choose it here. Your affiliate post type will be displayed here as an option list. To set it you can select your affiliate post type then click on ‘add item’ button to proceed. At List affiliate page template you can insert as many items as you want
- Extra Settings: Same as affiliate post type, here you can choose to display custom header, custom footer and custom pop-up
- ColorLabs SEO Settings: This feature will be activated automatically and will be deactivated if any SEO plugin installed. At this settings you can set SEO_follow (allow search engines to follow any links available on this page) and SEO_noIndex (prevent search engines from indexing this page)
Squeeze Affiliate Page TemplateTo set up this page template, please follow this instructions:
- Affiliate Intro Text: After typing the page title, you can type the affiliate page intro here. This affiliate page intro is not displayed as an excerpt so to make it beautiful don’t insert any image(s) or embed video on it.
- Page Template: Choose ‘affiliate’ as the template
- Featured Items: You can insert custom featured items, this featured items will explained what feature that your affiliate has. The items will be displayed as a list. To create it first you have to type the headline feature title then a simple description about it. Second, you can click on ‘add item’ button to expand item content
- Affiliate Template: Choose ‘style list’ as affiliate template
- Affiliate Items: After you create an affiliate post type before, you can choose it here. Your affiliate post type will be displayed here as an option list. To set it, you can select your affiliate post type then click on ‘add item’ button to proceed. On Squeeze affiliate page template, the affiliate post type must have a video embedded on it and the maximum item allowed is 1
- Extra Settings: Similiar with affiliate post type, here you can choose to display custom header, custom footer and custom pop-up
- Pop Up Setting: You can insert your pop-up message here. This text area is the same as usual post text area so you can use HTML view to write your message
- ColorLabs SEO Settings: This feature will be activated automatically, and it will be deactivated if any SEO plugin installed. At this settings, you can set SEO_follow (allow search engines to follow any links available at this page) and SEO_noIndex (prevent search engines from indexing this page)
Theme Settings
General Settings
Before you can start creating some content, these are the first settings that you have to do:
- Go to WordPress dashboard → AffiliateBoard → Dashboard → Genera Settings
- Color Scheme: You can set your own color scheme here. This color scheme will change buttons, borders, page navigation style and links color
- Blog Name: You can insert your blog name here, so you don’t have to go to settings page to do it
- Blog Tagline: Tagline is more like a short blog description
- Blog Title/Logo: You can choose to display a blog title or a blog logo instead. If you prefer to insert your own blog logo, the perfect size is 260 x 60 px
- Pagination Style: You can set the pagination style here. You can set it to display as page navi style or next previous link like a blog style
- PressTrends: Presstrends tracking is our feature to know how our customer use our theme. We use this feature for the next upgrade of the theme you are using. But there will be no personal information we get so your privacy is safe.
It’s your choice to use it or not
Front Page Settings
As we explain before, Affiliate Board doesn’t have a frontpage as usual theme, so you have to set your frontpage from here.
- Go to WordPress dashboard → Affiliate Board → Dashboard → FrontPage
- Front Page Display: You can set to display a specific page or maybe your post (if you want to display your post, you have create a blog page template first)
- Front Page: You can set any page to be set as your front page
Single Settings
- Go to WordPress dashboard → AffiliateBoard → Dashboard → Single Settings
- Related Post by Category: You can display related post by category. This setting will work for default post type only
- Related Post by Tags: You can display related post by tags. This setting will work for default post type only
- Related Post by Author: You can display related post by author. This setting will work for default post type only
Social Networking
As same as our themes, AffiliateBoard also can be integrated with some social networking. To set them you have to:
- Go to WordPress dashboard → AffiliateBoard → Dashboard → Social Networking.
Any social networking link you filled that social networking will active. So if you don’t want some social networking appear at your site, don’t type anything at that link box- You can also display auto share at your page(s) or post(s) by click (choose) any of available share buttons. To make it works make sure if you already filled the social link at point #2
Subscribe Settings
- Go to WordPress dashboard → AffiliateBoard → Dashboard → Subscribe Settings
- Subscribe Intro: You can type some words about this subscription to invite the visitor to subscribe to your RSS Feed update
- Enable RSS: You can set to enable RSS Feed subscribe by e-mail box or not, if you want to display this feature then you have to insert your FeedBurner ID
Footer Settings
- Go to WordPress dashboard → AffiliateBoard → Dashboard → Footer Settings
- If you want to have your own text in footer, you can check ‘enable custom footer left’ then type your text at available box. In this box you can type any HTML code like © for copyright icon
Single Ad
- Go to WordPress dashboard → AffiliateBoard → Dashboard → Single Ad
- You can choose to enable or disable this option by clicking on it.
At this option you can also insert any AdSense code or image (the best resolution is 468 x 60px) with a destination link
Creating a Page With Template
AffiliateBoard have several page templates that you can use. Please follow the instructions below:
Start to make a new page, then have a look for right sidebar at ‘Page Attributes’. You can select Affiliate, Blog, Contact and Sitemap.
All of them (exclude affiliate) don’t need another content. So after typing the title and select the template, you can go onto publish the page.

Menu Configuration
AffiliateBoard theme supports two slots WordPress Custom Menu. Here are the instructions to set it up:
- Navigate to Appearance → Menus section.
Click on “+” to create a new menu. Press Save Menu button to register your newly created menu- Add Pages, Categories or Custom Links to your menu. Drag and drop items from your menu to put them in the order you want it to create parent-child menus. Don’t forget to save your modification
- Assign your menu to Theme Locations
Import / Export Settings
At the new ColorLabs theme, we added import / export feature for you who have to manage several sites but want all of it have the same settings. To make it please follow these instructions:
- If you take a look at affiliateboard.zip you will find dummy content folder which contains 2 files: json and xml file.
If your site want to be set like our demo, you can upload the json file at these option- Or if you already have one site and want to make or manage the other to have the same settings as you did at your first site, you can download the export file (json file) and upload it to your another site then it will have the same settings
