Installing ArchiePlus

There are two ways to install ArchiePlus theme on your WordPress:

1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard

1. Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance → Themes section
2. Switch to Install Themes tab
3. Select Upload
4. Browse for .zip file on your computer and install it
5. Activate theme

2. Installing via FTP

1. Open your FTP Client Application (example : FileZilla)
2. Fill the login details (host, username and password) then press Quickconnect
3. Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
4. Go to ‘themes’ folder
5. Extract the archieplus.zip file into your local drive then search the current location and upload the archieplus folder

Got an error during installation process? Try the following:

• If you are upgrading the ArchiePlus theme via WordPress Admin menu open your ‘ArchiePlus.zip’ and rename the ‘archieplus‘ folder before uploading. Eg: archieplus2. Then press Enter
• Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
• Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL
• Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)
• Be sure you have at least PHP 4.3 with GD-library installed on your server. PHP 5 is better. GD library is something that can be installed by your web server admin. If you do not have this please ask for that to your web administrator and also at least WordPress 3.2 engine is installed

Theme Overview

General Settings

Before you can start creating some content, these are the first-time settings that you have to do:

1. Go to Dashboard → Appereance → ArchiePlus Control Panel → General
2. Set which category will fill your headline category section
3. Insert a text for the greeting section title.
4. Insert a text for the greeting section. You can also insert a HTML code like anchor to make a link
5. You also have to fill the footer credit in format ‘your site name’ by ‘your name’. By default it will be ArchiePlus by ColorLabs
6. There are three theme color options available for ArchiePlus:

Emerald Blue

Graphite Gray

Silky Silver

Google Adsense and User Specified Ads

In ArchiePlus, sidebar ad is not displayed at your front page but at your single post or page with dimension 125x125px. There also a single post ad with dimension 468x60px. Here is the way to set it:

1. Go to Dashboard → Appearance → ArchiePlus control panel → Google Adsense and User Specified Ads
2. If you got an image for your own ad you can simply upload it to your WordPress
3. After uploading your image, choose which section you want to place that image and select the image using drop down selector (your new uploaded image will be there)
4. After select the image you have to fill the available text box for the image url. The url have to be in full address (http://www.colorlabsproject.com)
5. Or if you prefer to use Google Adsense, fill your client id ( pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX). After fill your client id you can simply insert your slot id
6. There also Google Adsense slot option for your single post ad (468x60px)
