Classifier

Installing Classifier Theme

There are two ways to install Classifier theme on your WordPress:

1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard

  1. Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance → Themes section
  2. Switch to Install Themes tab
  3. Select Upload
  4. Browse for .zip file on your computer and install it
  5. Activate theme

2. Installing via FTP

  1. Open your FTP Client Application (example : FileZilla)
  2. Fill the login details (host, username, and password), then press Quickconnect
  3. Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
  4. Go to ‘themes’ folder
  5. Extract the classifier.zip file into your local drive and search the current location and upload the classifier folder

Got an error during installation process? Try the following:

  • If you are upgrading the Classifier theme via WordPress Admin menu, open your ‘classifier.zip’, rename the ‘classifier’ folder before uploading. Eg: classifier2. Then press Enter
  • Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
  • Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL or meet WordPress requirements
  • Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)

Theme Settings

General Settings

Go to Classifier → General Settings

  1. Blog Title/Logo: At Classifier theme, you can choose want to display your blog name or your logo. If you want to upload your own logo then the image dimension should be 260 x 60px (the best display)
  2. Favicon: Classifier also support to upload your own favicon
  3. Post Submit Status: You can set the status of the post which is added by your visitors or members (waiting for moderation is the default. By this status you can review the content of the post before publish it)
  4. Cache Expires: Your site may be getting slower when you add a new ad, our team has already added automatic cache clear feature, so your site will never be slowing down. The value is numeric without any comma. For example if you insert 3600 it will be every one hour your cache will be cleared
  5. Post Content: This setting will only work for your blog post. You can choose to display the excerpt of the post or full content of it

Ads Settings

  1. Allow Ad Editing: You can allow the owner of the ad to edit their ad from user dashboard
  2. Ad Counter:  You can set the ad view, counter will be displayed or not
  3. Ad Listing Period: You can set the expired date of the ads (value is on day)
  4. New Ad Status: You can set the status of the new added ad (default is Pending Review so your visitors/members may have to complete the payment first before their ad can be published)
  5. Parent Category Post: You can set if the visitors/members can add a new ad to the parent category or not
  6. Allow Image Ad: If your hosting space is limited or maybe another reason you have, you can set if the visitors/members can add an image to their ad or not
  7. Image Per Ad: If you allow your visitors/members to add an images, you can set the maximum allowed images upload
  8. Image Size: To prevent the visitors/members to upload a huge image, you can set the maximum image allowed (you have to write the value like: 500KB)

Search Settings

  1. Listing by Location: You can allow the visitors/members to sort the ad based on their location. This option will be available at the top of your site
  2. Exclude Page: You can exclude the pages to not show at search result, so the results will be your ads and your posts
  3. Exclude Post: You can exclude posts to not showed at search result, so the results will be your ads and your pages

Pricing Configurations

  1. Display Zero: If the visitors/members forgot to type the price of their goods, you can set it to show zero price
  2. Currency Symbols: You can set the currency symbols by typing it
  3. Symbol Position: You can set your currency symbols position
  4. Charge Listing Ads: You can set the visitors/members have to pay before the ads published or not. If you check this option, make sure if you look for the Gateways Settings
  5. Featured Ad Price: Featured ad is the slider and displayed at the top of your site. You can set the price of it by typing the value number (without any currency)
  6. Price Model: You can set the price model. Available options are: Fixed price per ad, Price per category, % of sellers ad price, Only charge for feature ad
  7. % of Sellers Ad Price: If you choose ‘% of seller’s ad price then you can set how many percent you want. Type just the value (without % or another symbols)

FrontPage Settings

  1. Featured Panel Title: You can set the title of featured section (the slider)
  2. Featured Tag: The slider is based on tags, so you have to type what tags you want to display at featured section. You can type more than one tags separated by coma
  3. Featured Entries: You can limit the number of ad displayed at featured section
  4. More Featured Ad: By default, this option is disabled. This feature will be displaying 4 more featured ad but not as a slider but as a grid displayed below the slider

Category Options

  1. Parent Ad Count: You can display ad count at parent category, it will count how many categories it has (including the sub category)
  2. Child Ad Count: You can display ad count at child category, it will count how many ads it have per child category
  3. Category Depth: You can set how many child category will be displayed on front page
  4. Hide Empty Child: If there is a child category with no ads, you can set to hide it or not
  5. Hide No Category: If your visitors/members forgot to ad category for their ads, you can hide ‘no category’ text on single ad page
  6. Category Order: You can set the category order by ID or name, the sorting is ascending
  7. Category Depth: This settings will be affected for Top Category section only, you can set how many child category that will be displayed

Taxonomy URL

This setting is same as category base permalinks but this one you can customize not only for category.

  1. Ad Listing Base URL: You can set the base URL for single ad
  2. Ad Category Base URL: You can set the base URL for category links
  3. Ad Tag Base URL: You can set the base URL for tags links
  4. Ad Location Base URL: You can set the base URL for location links

Membership Settings

  1. Enable Membership Packs: You can activate membership feature or not
  2. Membership Buy Page: If there are some members, so it will be a special price for them. You have to set the membership buy page. This page is created by using a page template (Go to page template guide)
  3. Membership Authentication Page:  You have to set the authentication page for member, this page will direct member to the membership authentication page after buy some items. This page is created by using a page template (Go to page template guide)

Labels and Messages

  1. Archive Text: Listings: You can type the title of ad archive page
  2. Archive Text: General: You can type the title of post archive page
  3. Home Page Message: This message will be displayed above the sidebar section at front page (when the visitor already login, this message will be hidden and change become the user profile)
  4. New Ad Message: You can type any message for your visitors/members when they want to post a new ad. This message will be displayed at the same location as home page message
  5. Membership Purchase Message: This message will be displayed only at membership page at the top of your site
  6. Terms of User: You can type your terms

Footer Settings

You can set custom credit at footer will be set as default (ColorLabs credit) or type your own. At the text box you can insert any HTML code

Page Template & Shortcode

Classifier support for several page templates and also shortcodes.

  1. Shortcode: Shortcode can be used on page or post. When creating a post/page please check for ColorLabs icon you will see several shortcodes can be used
  2. Page Template: At theme settings there are several settings that need a page template. Some of it need a content and others don’t like ‘add new listing, add new listing confirm, blog contact form, membership confirm, membership pack purchases, sitemap, user dashboard and user profile’. 
  3. Custom Meta Settings: This settings can be use if you want to use a page template but also want to set the sidebar position

Gateway Settings

As we mentioned before at Pricing Settings if you want to charge for listing you have to see the Gateway Settings, here it is:

PayPal

Go to WordPress Dashboard → Classifier → Gateways Settings

  1. You can set choose to use PayPal service or not
  2. If you want to use PayPal service make sure if you already have PayPal e-mail account and fill it here
  3. You can also use a PayPal IPN feature. If you want to use it you can test it first by check the option at ‘Enable IPN Debug’. With this you will send the test to demo@colorlabsproject.com
  4. You can also use PayPal Sandbox feature if your account already got it 
Direct Bank Transfer
  1. You can set to enable bank transfer or not
  2. If you want to enable bank transfer feature so you will have to type to where your visitors should transfer the payment or another instructions

Coupon Feature

Like another online shop, a coupon can push up your sales. Classifier support for that feature.

Go to WordPress dashboard → Classifier → Coupons

  1. Coupon Code: You have to insert your coupon code so the visitors/members can get some discount when adding an ad
  2. Type of Discount: You can set it in percent or maybe in currency value
  3. Maximum Usage:  You can set how many times the coupon code can be used
  4. Expired Date: You can set when the coupon code can be used and when it will be expired
  5. Actions: If the coupon already too old you can renew it by editing the start and expired date or maybe you want to delete it and create another one

Package Feature

Like another online shop which offering a bundle for their products Classifier also support for that. You can make your own bundle (package) promo.

Go to WordPress dashboard → Classifier → Package

  1. Price per Listing: You have to type the price of your package
  2. Ad Duration: You have to type the length of the duration (in days)

Transactions

Classifier will help you to manage your transactions. You can set the orders as paid or pending.

Go to WordPress dashboard → Classifier → Transactions

Framework

Classifier is based on our Zero Framework, framework updates will bring some bug fix. When new framework available there will be a notification at your Classifier dashboard

Custom File Editor

Like another our themes, Classifier also have custom file editor feature. This feature will help you to modify the CSS file without worrying will lose it if a new Classifier update launched.

If the new Classifier is launched you can copy and paste your CSS code to the new Classifier update.

To use it you can go to WordPress dashboard → Classifier → Custom File Editor
