Installing EstateExpert
There are two ways to install EstateExpert theme on your WordPress:
1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance → Themes section
- Switch to Install Themes tab
- Select Upload
- Browse for .zip file on your computer and install it
- Activate theme
2. Installing via FTP
- Open your FTP Client Application (example : FileZilla)
- Fill the login details (host, username, and password) then press Quickconnect
- Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
- Go to ‘themes’ folder
- Extract the estateexpert.zip file into your local drive then search the current location and upload the estateexpert folder
Got an error during installation process? Try the following:
- If you are upgrading the EstateExpert theme via WordPress Admin menu open your ‘estateexpert.zip’ and rename the ‘estateexpert’ folder before uploading. Eg: estateexpert2. Then press Enter
- Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
- Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL
Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)
Theme Overview
General Settings
Before you can start creating some content, these are the first-time settings that you have to do :
- Go to EstateExpert Options → General Settings
- Set your website logo and Icon Image. Here the further instruction
- Logo. Exactly 165 x 90 pixels. File can be JPG, GIF, or PNG only. Select the source for your logo and icon image, this can be from an URL (external image), media library or from your computer by uploading
- Icon Image. For some cross browser compatibility issues, the icon file should be an *.ico file, click here to generate your icon
FrontPage Settings
You can also modify how your front page look like:
- Go to EstateExpert Options → FrontPage Settings
- There is an option to Enable/Disable Property Slider in your Front Page
- Choose any features/property tag to be displayed on the Property Slider section
- Select which section you would like to exclude from your Front Page. The excluded section won’t be displayed on your Front Page
Property Labels
- Go to EstateExpert Options → Property Labels
- Specify a currency symbol that you will use in your site at Currency Symbol field
- Specify a text that you will display on the On Show Property Label at On Show Label field
- Specify a unit of measure that you will use on your website at Unit of Measure Label field
Property Search
- Go to EstateExpert Options → Property Search
- There is textbox to specify Search box Title
- There is an option to Enable/Disable Searchbox on your Front Page
- Specify the label that will be displayed on the Searchbox. There are several labels available to specify:
- Property Price Label
- Property Type Label
- Property Location Label
- Property Feature Label
dsIDSX Plugin Integration
Estate Expert have dxIDSX plugin integration feature, so you can display any property listing available at your area. To use this feature you have to be registered at dsIDSX first, you can sign up here.
To set dsIDSX Integration go to WordPress dashboard → Estate Expert → dsIDSX Plugin Integration
- You can set the plugin search feature be enable or disable
- You can type the title of your dsIDSX search box
- Fill the the cities you want to display at your site. You can get your cities from your account at dsIDSX site
- Fill the the communities you want to display at your site. You can get your communities from your account at dsIDSX site
- Fill the the tracts you want to display at your site. You can get your tracts from your account at dsIDSX site
After set the settings you can also add your dsIDSX widget at your sidebar:
Add ‘IDX Areas’ widget to your sidebar then choose the area types you want to displayed at front page. Then type the value you got from your member page at dsIDSX site (you can fill cities, communities or tracts).
Single Property
- Go to EstateExpert Options → Single Property
- The only option available is the displayed text on the Contact Agent button
Social Networking
- Go to EstateExpert Options → Social Networking
- Specify your social networking accounts that you are going to integrate to your website. There are Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr account available
- Also, you can select which Social Share Button you would like to enable on single post and pages
Open Graph Setting
- Go to EstateExpert Options → Open Graph Settings
- There is an option to Enable/Disable Open Graph feature on your website
- You can specify the site name, open graph admin, and image url for your open graph image
Thumbnail Settings
- Go to EstateExpert Options → Thumbnail Settings
- There is an option to use WordPress Featured Image or not. If you prefer to use it, there are two more added options:
- Dynamic Resize : If this options is enabled, the thumbnail in each post will be resized dynamically using WordPress native function
- Hard Crop : The original image will be cropped to match the target aspect ratio
- There is an option to enable TimThumb.php script which will dynamically re-size images added through post custom field
- There is an option to generate post thumbnail automatically from the first image in post
- There is an option to enable post thumbnail in RSS feed article
- You can specify the thumbnail image size that you are going to use
Analytics ID, RSS Feed
Go to EstateExpert Options → Analytics ID, RSS Feed. In this section, you can:
- Put your google analytics code in your website
- Specify your feedburner URL
- Specify the feedburner comments URL
Email Address
Go to EstateExpert Options → Email Address. Specify the Contact Form and Subscription Email Address
Sidebar
- Go to WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Widgets to add sidebar widgets
- If you want to add widgets in your sidebar, simply drag any available widget to the sidebar column on the right
Property Listings
Property Listings are entries similar to post and will also be displayed on the home page. You can access it in WordPress → Dashboard Property Listings. There are six sub-menus under this panel. They are:
- Property Listings: In this menu, you can select Property or Properties you would to edit, delete, or view. This menu is similar to All Post in WordPress default theme
- Add New Property: In this menu, you can add new Property on your website. There is ColorLabs Property Detail Settings panel below the edit property field. This panel contains some settings to customize your Property specification. They are:
- Custom Image: You can upload the picture you would like to display as your property image
- Video Embed Code: You can enter the video embed code you would display in your property
- Address: Specify your property address
- City and State: Specify the city and state where your property is located
- Google Maps Location: You can enter the google maps data location
- Choose an Agent: You can choose an agent for each property you created
- Price: Specify the property price
- Bedrooms: Specify the number of bedrooms
- Bathrooms: Specify the number of bathrooms
- Size: Specify the property size
- Garages: Specify the number of garages
- Fully Furnished: Choose an option whether the property is fully furnished or not
- Mortgage: Choose an option whether the property is available to mortgage or not
- On show: Mark the checkbox if you would like to show the property in your front page
- Property Type: Similar to Categories, you can add, edit, and delete the property type you would use in your website
- Property Location: In this menu, you can add, edit, and delete location
- Features: Add, edit, and delete property features
- Price Range: Specify the price range for your property listings
Agent
Agents are an entry that is display on your each of your property. It describe a company or a person a who act as an intermediary between sellers and buyers of the property in your listings. Similar to All Posts, in this panel you can add, edit, delete, or view all agents do you have.
