Installing Initiator
There are two ways to install Initiator theme on your WordPress:
1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance → Themes section
- Switch to Install Themes tab
- Select Upload
- Browse for .zip file on your computer and install it
- Activate theme
2. Installing via FTP
- Open your FTP Client Application (example: FileZilla)
- Fill the login details (host, username and password) then press Quickconnect
- Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
- Go to ‘themes’ folder
- Extract the initiator.zip file into your local drive and search the current location and upload the initiator folder
Got an error during installation process? Try the following:
- If you are upgrading the Initiator theme via WordPress Admin menu open your ‘initiator.zip’ and rename the ‘initiator‘ folder before uploading. Eg: initiator2. Then press Enter
- Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
- Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL
- Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)
- Be sure you have at least PHP 4.3 with GD-library installed on your server. PHP 5 is better. GD library is something that can be installed by your web server admin. If you do not have this, please ask for that to your web administrator and also at least WordPress 3.2.1 engine is installed
- If you’re using WordPress v 3.3.1, make sure if your hosting server meet the requirements
Theme Overview
Framework Update
Before you can start using Initiator make sure if you already update your framework:
There will be a notification if framework update available. Update your framework to get the newest theme feature and also bug fix.
New ColorLabs Theme Panel
If you are new maybe it will be easy to understand about the design and new looks but if you already use our product with old theme panel before it will be very interesting to know our new feature.
- First, go to Initiator dashboard
- Then pick one option you want to edit or change by left-click and hold
- Drag the icon you click and hold before to the right space then the option will be displayed
General Settings
Before you can start creating some content these are the first-time settings that you have to do:
- Go to Initiator dashboard then pick ‘general settings’ icon. Drag the icon to the right space
- Initiator provide you a choice for header. You can display your site title or your logo
- You can also upload your own favicon
- If at ‘use for blog title/logo’ option you choose logo then at this option you can upload your own logo. The best size (according to the default) is 219 x 48px, your uploaded image also will be displayed below the option
- There are two available logo space. The first one is at header and the second one is at footer. The best size (according to the default) is 149 x 35px
- The last setting at general settins is main layout. You can choose your sidebar display. By default sidebar is at right hand of the page, you can also choose the left hand side of the page
Social Networking Settings
- Go to Initiator dasboard then click and drag ‘social networking’ icon to the right space
- If you have Facebook account you can insert the full url of your account, like http://www.facebook.com/colorlabs. But if you don’t have left it blank then the icon will not displayed at front page
There are 4 available options of social networking links (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Youtube)- You can make social share button enable or disable
Front Page Settings
- Go to Initator dashboard then click and drag ‘front page settings’ to the right space
- Initiator support slide category at front page, you can set which category you want to display, but if you won’t to use any slider you can left it blank
- Initiator also support for stikcy category at front page, you can select which category you want to display
Footer Settings
- Go to Initiator dashboard then click and drag ‘footer settings’ icon to the right space
- You can disable or enable footer credit by check the option ‘activate to add custom credit on footer area’. At text box available you can insert HTML tag like href or anything you want and it will be displayed at the bottom right of your page
Contact Form
- Go to Initiator dashboard then click and drag ‘contact form’ icon to the right space
- If you add contact page to your site so you have to fill this form as the address to where that messagge delivered
Page Template
Initiator support you to made a page with several theme on it. Here are the ways to use them:
- Go to Dashboard → Pages → Add New
- After finish type the title and content of your post, you can select one from available page template
Not all of the page template need body content. The only one which need body content is full page template and default.

Error Uploading Image(s)
When you’re trying to upload an image using WordPress engine version 3.3 and the screen become gray like this one then nothing happen, don’t be panic. To cleared this problem you can just clear your cache via browser option.
