Installing Letters
There are two ways to install Letters theme on your WordPress:
1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance → Themes section
- Switch to Install Themes tab
- Select Upload
- Browse for .zip file on your computer and install it
- Activate theme
2. Installing via FTP
- Open your FTP Client Application (example : FileZilla)
- Fill the login details (host, username, and password) then press Quickconnect
- Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
- Go to ‘themes’ folder
- Extract the letters.zip file into your local drive then search the current location and upload the Letters folder
Got an error during installation process? Try the following:
- If you are upgrading the Letters theme via WordPress Admin menu open your ‘letters.zip’ and rename the ‘letters’ folder before uploading. Eg: letters2. Then press Enter
- Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
- Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL
Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)
Installing Plugin
Letters theme requires one of these 3 plugins. They are WP e-Commerce, Jigoshop plugin and WooCommerce plugin. Here is the way to install these plugins:
1. Installing WP e-Commerce plugin
- Navigate to WP e-Commerce plugin homepage and download the plugin package
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Plugins → Add New → Upload
- Browse for .zip file on your computer and Install it
- Activate plugin
2. Installing Jigoshop plugin
- Navigate to Jigoshop plugin homepage and download the plugin package
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Plugins → Add New → Upload
- Browse for .zip file on your computer and Install it
- Activate plugin
3. Installing Woocommerce plugin
- Navigate to Woocommerce plugin homepage and download the plugin package
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Plugins → Add New → Upload
- Browse for .zip file on your computer and Install it
- Activate plugin
Theme Overview
General Settings
Before you can start using the theme, you should set several settings. First set the settings at “General Settings”. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to general settings, you have to drag and drop the general settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- Logo/Title: You can set what you want to display. Is it logo or your blog title
- Favicon: You also can set your own favicon. If you don’t have one, you can use this tools. To use favicon, you can just upload the icon that generated with that tools without have to edit header.php
- Logo: If at option number #1 you choose to displaying the logo, you can upload it here with best resolution of 219 x 48 px (width x height). If you upload an image with dimension more than that, the design will broke
- Main Layout: You can also set the sidebar. At every page (front page, page, single page and archive page), the sidebar will follow this rule. You can set your sidebar to be displayed at the right or left side (default is right)
- Presstrends: Presstrends tracking is our feature to know how our customer use our theme. We use this feature for the next upgrade of theme you use. But there will be no personal information we get so your privacy is safe.
It’s your choice to use it or not
- Disable Responsive: By default responsive design for device is activated, but by this option you can disable it. With this settings, all gadgets (smart phone and tablet) will have the same display at PC’s browsers
FrontPage Settings
The next settings you have to set is Front Page Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to front page settings, you have to drag and drop the front page settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- Home Page Tagline: Even if by default WordPress have a tagline, we offer special tagline you can use. At this settings, you can have your own tagline with HTML tags. So you can use links (href) or maybe bold, etc.
- Latest Work Title: At this setting you can type a title for latest work section. This section will displaying your latest blog post
- Latest Product Title: At this settings you can type a title for latest product sections. This section will displaying your latest product. To create a products post you have to install one of three e-commerce plugins first (WP-Ecommerce, Jigoshop, Woocommerce)
Social Networking
The next settings you have to set is Social Networking Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to social networking settings, you have to drag and drop the social networking settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- Social Networking: You can type your social networking url here, every social networking url you set, it will be displayed at your sidebar. So if you want to get closer with your visitors, you should use this feature
- Share Buttons: Also we have share buttons which will be displayed at every end of your post/page (including product)
Open Graph Setting
The next settings you have to set is Open Graph Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to open graph settings, you have to drag and drop the open graph settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- Enable/Disable: There is option to Enable/Disable Open Graph feature on your website
- Open Graph Information: You can specify the site name, open graph admin, and image url for your open graph image
Thumbnail Settings
- WordPress Featured Image: additional options:
- Dynamic Resize: If this options is enabled, the thumbnail in each post will be resized dynamically using WordPress native function
- Hard Crop: The original image will be cropped to match the target aspect ratio
- TimThumb: Will dynamically re-size images added through post custom field
- Automatic Thumbnail: There is an option to generate post thumbnail automatically from the first image in post
- RSS Thumbnail: There is an option to enable post thumbnail in RSS feed article
- Thumbnail Image Dimensions: You can specify the thumbnail image size that you are going to use on your website
Analytics ID, RSS Feed
The next settings you have to set is Analytics ID and RSS Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to analytics id and rss settings, you have to drag and drop the analytics id and rss settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- GoSquared Token: We provide GoSquared analytics integration if you have one
- Google Analytics: You can also using Google Analytics feature, please choose one of analytics feature available to prevent any error
- Feed Burner ID: Our subscription feature is using Feed Burner. If you want to have a subscribers then you have to get Feed Burner ID and type it here
- Feed Burner URL: Type your Feed Burner URL here, so people can access to it easily
- Feed Burner Comments URL: Type your Feed Burner Comments URL here, so people can access to it easily
Footer Settings
The next settings you have to set is Footer Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to footer settings, you have to drag and drop the footer settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- Activate Custom Credit: You can have your own credit, to activate you have to tick this option as enable
- Custom Credit Text: If your make option number #1 enable, a text box will automatically displayed. At this text box you can type any HTML tags
Single Ad
The next settings you have to set is Single Ad Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to single ad settings, you have to drag and drop the single ad settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- Enable Ad: By default ad at single page (post) is disabled. To activate it you can activate this option by tick on it
- Adsense Code: For ad, you can use any AdSense code available by typing the code here. Make sure if your adsense size is 468 x 60px (width x height)
- Image Ad: If you don’t have any adsense code or maybe you want to promote another site/blog, you can upload your own banner with dimension of 468 x 60px. After upload the image, you have to type the url where it will direct if clicked
Contact Form
The next settings you have to set is Contact Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to contact settings, you have to drag and drop the contact settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
This option is important if you want to create a contact page template. By filing your e-mail address here, any message from your visitors will delivered there.
Color Settings
The next settings you have to set is Color Settings. To get here, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Letters → Dashboard. To navigate to color settings, you have to drag and drop the color settings icon to the grey area on the right frame.
- General Color: With this settings you can freely set general color of your site
- Sidebar Background: With this settings you can freely set sidebar title background color
- Font Color: With this settings you can freely set the font color of your site

SEO Page Title
Our team also provide Letters theme with SEO embed, with these feature you will have your own SEO. But you can also install SEO plugins that available at WordPress.org.
If you choose to use SEO plugins, our default SEO feature will be automatically deactivate. But if you don’t want to use external plugins, here some settings that you must do:
- Blog Title: You can type your own blog title. This blog title is not the one that displayed on your front page, but this one displayed on your browser title
- Blog Description: You can type your own blog description. This blog description is not a tagline, this one will be displayed on your browser title
- Separator: You can type your own separator at browser title
- Cutom Page Title: You can set this option as enable (default state is enable). By activate this option, you can set your page and post title. You can set to displaying page title, blog title and blog description or you can use all of them in one time
- Archive Title: This option have the same effect as option number #4, but with this option you can set the title of archive page (like posts under categories and tags)
- Page Number: You can set how page number will be displayed at your browser title (for paged page only)
- Page Number Position: You can set how the page number will be displayed
Theme Updates
Our team also add this feature as our plus. This feature will notify you if there is theme update or framework update.
To use this feature, you have to make sure if:
- Your hosting provide support for CURL
- Theme folder name should be default. If you already rename the theme folder name, this feature will not working
- Make sure if you update the framework version first before updating the theme
- If your theme already modified, with theme update all of your work will be lost. So make sure before the update you already have some back-up file
Add New Page
Before you start making a page, you’d better know this:
- Template: You can have more than just an ordinary page, with this template you can create more than WordPress usual page. You can make Contact page, Blog page and Portfolio page. By using this template, just choose the template, type the title and publish
- Item to Show: You can choose what item you want to show, if you choose none (also means default), image or video
- Enable/Disable Ad: You can have different ads per page rather than follow the global ad
- Layout: You can choose the sidebar position as you wish, the ‘x’ sign means default
- Featured Page: If you want your page displayed at the front page then check for this option
- Featured Icon: If option number #5 is checked then you should choose one of many icons available
- SEO Settings: You can also set the SEO manually, you can set set_follow and set_noIndex and also custom page title at browser tab
Page Template
There are 3 page templates available in Eureka Theme. They are:
Blog
Contact
Sidebar
- Go to WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Widgets
- If you want to add widgets in your sidebar, simply drag any available widget to the sidebar column on the right. There are 3 available:
- Blog Sidebar: Sidebar in blog template page
- Shop sidebar: Sidebar in shop page
- Footer sidebar
Eureka provides 10 additional widget that you can use in your sidebar. They are:

Using WP e-Commerce Plugin
WP e-Commerce plugin will generate a new additional panel on your WordPress dashboard. It is Products panel. It contains 6 sub menus, they are:
- Products: Similar to All Post panel, you can add, edit, or delete product you want to show on your website
- Ad New: In this menu, you can add new product on your website. There are some additional sub-panel to specify your product specification. They are:
- Product Tags: Similar to post tags, you can specify tags for your each product
- Product Categories: Similar to post categories, you can specify which categories your product belongs to
- Price Control: Specify a price for your product
- Stock Control: You can control the stock of your product in this menu
- Taxes: Specify a taxable amount if your product is taxable
- Variation Panel: Use this panel if your product has a variation. (e.g. color, size, etc)
- Off Site Product Link: Use this panel if your product is also for sale on another website. Specify an external link where your product is sold
- Additional Description
- Product Download: If your product is available to download, you can attached its file into this panel. A maximum file size allowed is 128 M
- Product Images: Specify an image for your product
- Shipping: Specify a shipping information for your product
- Advanced Settings: In this menu, you can specify an advanced settings for your product (e.g. custom meta, merchant notes, enable/disable comment, etc)
- Product Tags: Similar to post tags, you can add, edit, and delete your product tags you would use in your website
- Product Categories: Similar to Categories, you can add, edit, and delete your ad categories you would use in your website
- Variations: Add, edit, and delete your product variations on your website
- Coupon: Specify a coupon details if any
Using Jigoshop Plugin
After you have installed Jigoshop plugin, it will generate some new additional panels on your WordPress dashboard. They are Jigoshop, Products, and Orders panel.
- Jigoshop panel contains 3 sub menus. They are:
- Dashboard: Dashboard panel contains a general information about your products (e.g. stock) and sales performance (e.g. number of sales per day, orders)
- Settings: In this menu, you will find some configuration options for Jigoshop plugin
- System Information
- Products panel. It contains 6 sub-menus. They are:
- All Products: Similar to All Post panel, you can add, edit, or delete product you want to show on your website
- Add Products: In this menu, you can add new product on your website. There are some additional sub-panel to specify your product specification. They are:
- Product Categories: Similar to post categories, you can specify which categories your product belongs to
- Product Tags: Similar to post tags, you can specify tags for your each product
- Product Data: In this menu, you can specify the specification of your product. There are general information, pricing information, inventory information, and attributes information available to specify
- Product Categories: Similar to Categories, you can add, edit, and delete your ad categories you would use in your website
- Product Tags: Similar to post tags, you can add, edit, and delete your product tags you would use in your website
- Variations: Add, edit, and delete your product variations on your website
- Attributes: You can specify an extra data for your product (e.g. size, color)
- Orders. It contains 2 sub-menus. They are:
- All Orders: By this menu, you can manage all orders of your products sold on your website
- Add Order: In this menu, you can add new order based on your customer information
Using WooCommerce plugin
WooCommerce plugin will generate 2 new additional panels on your WordPress dashboard. They are WooCommerce panel and Products panel.
- WooCommerce panel contains 4 sub menus. They are:
- Settings: Within this menu, you will find some configuration options for Jigoshop plugin
- Reports: Dashboard panel contains some report about your sales, customers and stock
- Orders: Within this menu, you can manage all orders of your products
- Coupons: Specify a coupon details if any
- Products panel. It contains 5 sub-menus. They are:
- Products: Similar to All Post panel, you can add, edit or delete product you want to show on your website
- Add Products: Within this menu, you can add new product on your website. There are some additional sub-panel to specify your product specification. They are:
- Product Type and visibility: Specify your product type and visibility. Specify is your product a virtual product or not, a downloadable product or not and is it featured product or not
- Product Data: You can specify the specification of your product. There are general information, tax information, inventory, sells information, attributes information and grouping information available to specify
- Product categories: Similar to post categories, you can specify which categories your product belongs to
- Product Tags: Similar to post tags, you can specify tags for your each product
- Product Categories: Similar to Categories, you can add, edit and delete your ad categories you would use in your website
- Product Tags: Similar to post tags, you can add, edit and delete your product tags you would use in your website
- Attributes: You can specify an extra data for your product (e.g. size, color)
