Installing Minuet
There are two ways to install Minuet theme on your WordPress:
1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard
- Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance ? Themes section
- Switch to Install Themes tab
- Select Upload
- Browse for .zip file on your computer and install it
- Activate theme
2. Installing via FTP
- Open your FTP Client Application (example : FileZilla)
- Fill the login details (host, username, and password), then press Quickconnect
- Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
- Go to ‘themes’ folder
- Extract the minuet.zip file into your local drive then search the current location and upload the minuet folder
Got an error during installation process? Try the following:
- If you are upgrading the minuet theme via WordPress Admin menu, open your ‘minuet.zip’, rename the ‘minuet‘ folder before uploading. Eg: minuet2. Then press Enter
- Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
- Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL
Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)- Be sure you have at least PHP 4.3 with GD-library installed on your server. PHP 5 is better. GD library is something that can be installed by your web server admin. If you do not have this, you can ask for that to your web administrator, and also at least WordPress 3.5 engine is installed
Automatic Update:
At Minuet theme, starts from Minuet version 1.4.0 we already add a new feature which will help you to get the latest updates from us. You can update your framework first before updating your theme, this framework will bring several bug fix (the kitchen codes, core files). Also there is an automatic theme update which will help you to update the theme easily. If you have a problem when do the update, please:
- Make sure if your hosting provider support cURL feature
- Make sure if folder directory named wp-content permission at least 755 or 777
- Make sure if you are using the login information which is given when you purchase our products, also make sure if the information is valid. You can check your login information by login into our member site
Theme Overview
Theme Dashboard
Minuet is using a new version of our theme panel. This new panel will provide you to the more impressive experience to explore our themes.
There are 4 sub menus inside of it. They are:
Dashboard
Dashboard panel contains a few of settings to customize Minuet theme. Within this panel you can configure the theme and customize its layout. Just drag and drop the option from the left column into the right column to show all sub-options inside of it.
SEO Settings
This feature will help you who just new to WordPress. With this feature you don’t have to think about SEO, we already prepared all of your needs here, but still it is just a basic SEO function.
For you who have already known or maybe expert on WordPress, you can download many SEO plugins which are available at WordPress.org and our SEO function will automatically turned off to prevent a plugin crash.
Customizer Importer
This feature talking about WordPress v 3.4.1 new feature, MaxCustomizer. But this is not a customizer it is a function that will help you to import/export what you have customize on customizer. To check the MaxCustomizer settings, you can go to the theme demo page and click on Customizr icon (brush icon) to displaying the MaxCustomizer settings.
After you make some modification, you can export the MaxCustomizer from our demo page and import it to your theme dashboard at directory: WordPress dashboard → Minuet → Customizer Importer
Updates
If there is an update available, update feature will tell you by a notification. You can update your framework and theme automatically but be careful because if your site already modified a lot with theme update function, all of your work will be gone. So please make a back-up files first before updating your theme.
Note: If you have already updated your framework but your framework version still not updated and yellow notification has already appeared, it means if your framework already updated. To refresh the framework version information you can click on ‘updates’ tab and your framework version will be refreshed.
For theme update, make sure that your wp-content folder is not protected and also cURL is enabled at your hosting provider.
Adding Page
- Shortcodes: To use a shortcode, you can click on Lemuel’s head icon to check the options available
- Page Template: Wireline have several page templates which can be used to improve your blogging experience, they are sitemap and contact page template
- SEO: You can set the SEO options here individually. You can set SEO_follow (allow search engine to crawl on your post) or SEO_noindex (prevent search engine to crawl on your post)

Adding Post
- Shortcodes: To use a shortcode, you can click on Lemuel’s head icon to check the options available
- Item To Show:
- Custom Post Image: Basically custom post image is same as featured image which will not displayed on post content, just as the post thumbnail
- Video Embed Code: To have a video thumbnail displayed, you have to put the video embed code to this text area. Your code should be displayed like this one:

Make sure if you only use an embed code from popular video sharing like Youtube or Vimeo

Adding Agent
There are several custom post types available to be used in Minuet theme, one of them is agent. The concept is like contact person, the one who should be contacted to get more information about the event you have, etc. To access this page, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Agent → Add New Agent
- Description: At the text area, you can put a description about this contact person
- Agent Detail: At the available fields, you can put an informations about the contact person like their address, country, state and phone contact
Adding Artist
Another custom post type that Minuet theme has is artist. The concept of this custom post type is the singer of the music you post, this information will explain who is the singer more details. To access this page, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Artist → Add new Artist
- Description: At the text area, you can put an informations about the singer/artist more details
- Artist Detail: You can put an extra information about the artist, like the record label and also a post custom image. Basically post custom image is he same as featured image, so it is depends on you to use which one (featured image is the default one which come with WordPress, and the post custom image is our modification. If you fill them both, featured image is the priority)
Adding Music
The last custom post type Minuet has is Music.
- Description: You can type a description about your music on the text area
- Details: You can put an extra information about your music
- Choose An Artist: To use this option, first you have to create at least one artist, then the artist will be displayed as a drop down list
- Year: You can put an information about on what year does the music published
- Record Label: You can put the record label
- Post Custom Image: Basically post custom image is he same as featured image, so it is depends on you to use which one (featured image is the default one which come with WordPress, and the post custom image is our modification. If you fill them both, featured image is the priority)
- Video Embed Code: You can also put an embed code for your music video clip, to make your video can be watched from mobile device like smart phone or tablet, make sure if you only use an embed code from YouTube or Vimeo only. The code should be look like this one:

Theme Options
To access the dashboard, you can go to WordPress dashboard → Minuet → Dashboard. You can drag and drop the menu navigation icon from left to right area to displaying an options behind it.
General Settings
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the General Settings icon from left to right section
- Custom Logo: You can upload your own custom logo from this option, the best resolution that you can use is 260 x 60 px (width x height)
- Custom Favicon: You can also upload a custom favicon from this option
- Blog Description: At this option, you can put a tagline that will be displayed at your front page
- Main Layout: From this option, you can choose whether to displaying a sidebar at left side or right side
- Press Trends Tracking: This feature will help us to undestand how our customer use our themes, none of your personal information will be sent to us
- Disable Responsive: By this option you can choose whether to use a responsive design or not (by responsive design, your site will automatically resize depends on screen size)
Front Page Settings
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the Front Page Settings icon from left to right section
- Headline Slider Category: From this option you can choose which event category that you want to display at the slider
- Upcoming Event Label: At this text field, you can put a custom label for Headline Slider
- Headline Slider: By this option, you can choose whether to displaying the slider as a normal slider or as an accordion
- Music Genre: By this option you can choose which category should be displayed at music section at the front page (music category is called by music genre at Minuet theme)
- Music Limit: By this option you can choose how many music post you want to displaying at front page section
- About Section: By this option, you can choose which page should be displayed at the about section at front page
- Contact Section: By this option you can choose which page should be displayed at the contact us section at front page
- Latest News: By this option you can choose which post (regular post) category should be displayed at latest post section
Social Networking
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the Social Slider Slider Settings icon from left to right section
- Social URL: By this option you can put your social url, by putting your url on the available fields, a social icons will be displayed on footer section
- Social Sharing Buttons: By this option you can choose which social share buttons should be displayed at your single post
Thumbnail Settings
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the Thumbnail Settings icon from left to right section
- Featured Images: If this option is active, an image which is set as featured will be displayed as your post/page thumbnail
- Dynamic Resize: If this option is active, your image will dynamically resized, this feature require a PHP version minimum v 5.2 (higher is better)
- Hard Crop: If this option is active, your image will hard cropped, this feature is using timthumb to proceed
- Timthumb Image Resizer: If this option is inactive, all options on timthumb settings will be turned off
- Automatic Thumbnail: By default if option #2 is active, this option will take any image available on your post/page as your post/page thumbnail (first image uploaded on your post/page or featured image), but featured image is priority (if option #2 is active)
- Image on RSS Feed: If this option is active, you will have an image on your RSS feed
Analytics Code and RSS
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the Analytics Code and RSS Settings icon from left to right section
- GoSquared Token: You can integrate this theme with GoSquared by put your token at the text box
- Google Analytics: This theme also can be integrate with Google Analytics by put the analytics code at the text area
- FeedBurner URL: To enable the FeedBurner feature, you can put the url of your feed at the text box
Footer Settings
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the Footer Settings icon from left to right section
- Custom Credit: If you activate this option (tick the option), a text area will be displayed which can be used to put your custom credit. At the text area, you can put any HTML code
Contact Form
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the Contact Form Settings icon from left to right section
- Destination Address: You can put your e-mail address at the text field, all email inquiry made at contact page template will be send to this e-mail address
Header Ad
- Options: To displaying the options, you can drag the Header Ad Settings icon from left to right section
- Adsense Code: There are 2 options available that you can use in order to displaying an ads. The first option is Adsense, you can put your adsense code at the text area to displaying it
- Image Location: The next option to displaying an ads is by upload your image ads then put your destination url at the forms below. This ads image will not working if you already put an adsense code at the text area. You can also put an alt code (a text that will be displayed if you hover your mouse to the ads image) at the available code
Miscellaneous
Events Manager
Minuet theme already integrated with a plugin named event manager, to explore the feature of this plugin, you can check for this url. Also make sure if you are not installing another event manager plugin, the free or the premium one. Because, by installing those plugin, a plugin conflict might happen (error 500).
Also, if you found your site become blank (white screen of death) after activating this theme, its means that your PHP limit is too small, to solve this problem, you have to contact your hosting provider tech. guy in order to increase your PHP limit.
If you already activate this theme and found your site become blank, to fix it (if you think it is an urgent) you can do this steps:
- Go to FTP → WordPress root folder. At this folder, you will found a file named wp-config.php. Rename that file
- Go to FTP → WordPress root folder → wp-content → themes, delete the minuet folder
- Go to your site, an error notification will be displayed at your site (like the first time you install your WordPress)
- Install your WordPress with information available at your old wp-config.php like database name, database username, database password. To make sure if your data is safe, please type another prefix for your new WordPress installation (for example, if the previous WordPress installation you use wp_ as the prefix, make sure if this time you type the different one, like wp_new_)
- Right now, after you finish with the installation, your WordPress will be on air
- If yours hosting provider already increase your PHP limit, to restore your old data you can delete the current wp-config.php then rename file named wp-config-old.php become wp-config.php then your data will be restored
If you check at our demo page, you will found a menu navigation item named event schedule. This menu cannot be removed or modified because the items on it is based on events you create (to create an event, you can go to WordPress Dashboard → Events → Add new Events
