Installing Vidio

Backbone Installation

Before you can use the powerful features of Vidio theme, you need to install Backbone as it parent theme:

1. Download and install Backbone theme from your member area. After you finish downloading, open your WordPress dashboard → Appearance → Themes → Install and upload your backbone.zip or
2. After downloading backbone.zip, extract that file into your computer drive then open your FTP using 3rd party software like FileZilla then go to Public HTML → WP-content → themes. Upload your Backbone folder there

There are two ways to install Vidio theme on your WordPress:

1. Installing via WordPress Dashboard

1. Navigate to your WordPress Admin Menu and open Appearance → Themes section
2. Switch to Install Themes tab
3. Select Upload
4. Browse for backbone.zip file on your computer and install it
5. Browse for vidio.zip file on your computer and install it
6. ActivateVidio theme

2. Installing via FTP

1. Open your FTP Client Application (example : FileZilla)
2. Fill the login details (host, username, and password) then press Quickconnect
3. Go to ‘wp-content’ folder
4. Go to ‘themes’ folder
5. Extract backbone.zip and vidio.zip files into your local drive and search the current location and upload backbone and vidio folder

Got an error during installation process? Try the following:

• If you are upgrading the vidio theme via WordPress Admin menu, open your ‘vidio.zip’, rename the ‘vidio’ folder before uploading. Eg: vidio2. Then press Enter
• Make sure if you have already got the lastest version of Backbone
• Make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress
• Make sure your hosting is running the latest version of PHP and MySQL
  Try to upload manually via FTP (FileZilla)

Theme Overview

General Settings

Before you can start creating some content these are the first settings that you have to do:

1. Go to Vidio dashboard → General Settings. (To operate our new theme panel, you can drag and drop the menu icon to the right blank space)
2. You can choose to display your blog name or your own logo by uploading it at ‘custom logo’ option. The best size for it is 116 x 38 px
3. Usually, only on WordPress post page you can add a comment, but in Vidio theme you can set it by your self if you want only able to post comment on single post or also on page
4. For pagination now you can set it to be displayed like WordPress page navi style or like a blog like (next and previous style)
5. Vidio support for displaying your tagline. You can type branding of your site but make sure if your words is not too long
6. If you think your tagline is not enough to describe your site you can type your blog description also. For blog description you can add HTML tag like <strong> tag or any other tag
7. Presstrends tracking is our feature to know how our customer use our theme. We use this feature for the next upgrade of theme you use. Your privacy will be safe because nothing of your information will be leaked.

Front Page Settings

You can set your front page look like by following these instructions:

1. Go toVidio dashboard → Front Page Settings
2. You can set which video post category you want to display at header slider or also called by featured section
3. Besides you can make a video post, you can also make a default post type. By this option you can set how many default post type will be displayed on front page
4. Any video category which already set to be displayed at featured section will not appear at any other section, so this option will set how many latest video post which is not set at featured section (default is 9 items)

Social Networking

Like our others theme,Vidio can be integrated with some social networking, to set them you have to:

1. Go to Vidio dashboard → Social Networking
2. Any social networking link you filled that social networking will active, so if you don’t want some social networking appear at your site don’t type anything at that link box
3. You can also display auto share at your page(s) or post(s) by clicking (choose) any of available share buttons. To make it works, make sure that you already fill the social link at point #2

Subscribe Settings

1. To set Vidio subscribe settings please go to Vidio dashboard → Subscribe Settings
2. You can show RSS icon by inserting your Feedburner ID at point #2
3. At the very end of your post (after comment form) you can hide or unhide related post by caetgory (number of posts will be displayed is 5)

Footer Settings

1. You can set several settings at footer, to set them go to Vidio Dashboard → Footer Settings
2. If you want to have your own text at footer, you can check ‘enable custom footer’ then type your text in available box. In this box you can type any HTML code like © for copyright icon

Single Ad

1. To set single ad (displayed at video and default post content), go to Vidio dashboard → Single Ad
2. You can choose these option enable or disable by click on it.
   At this option you can also insert any AdSense code or image (the best resolution is 468 x 60px) with a destination link

Creating a Post

Vidio support to display any video from Youtube or Vimeo. You can add any video(s) by following these steps:

1. When creating a video or default post, make sure if you check at ‘ColorLabs Image/Video Settings’. At these option you can select which items will displayed (as thumbnail). If you want to insert video from Youtube or Vimeo please check at image below:

• At Youtube open your video then click on share
• Then click on embed
• After a box with code appear copy that code at the box to the available box which will appear when you click on ‘embed’ at post setting

2. You can also set for every post have a different Ads. This can be AdSense code or an image with destination link (the best resolution is 468 x 60px)
3. You can also set the display setting for each post by click on available option

Creating a Page With Template

Vidio have several page templates you can use. Please follow the instructions below:

Start with make a new page then have a look for right sidebar at ‘Page Attributes’. You can select Advanced Search Page, Archives, Contact Form, Gallery, Sitemap and Blog.
All of them don’t need any body content so after type the title and select the template you can go on to publish the page.

Menu Configuration

Vidio theme supports one slot WordPress Custom Menu. Here are the instructions to set it up:

1. Navigate to Appearance → Menus section
2. Click on “+” to create a new menu, press Save Menu button to register your newly created menu
3. Add Pages, Categories or Custom Links to your menu. Drag and drop items from your menu to put them in the order you want it to create parent-child menus. Don’t forget to save your modification
4. Assign your menu to Theme Locations

Import / Export Settings

At the new ColorLabs theme, we added import / export feature for you who have to manage several sites but want all of it have the same settings. To make it, please follow these instructions:

1. If you take a look at vidio.zip you will find dummy content folder which contains 2 files: json and xml file.
   If your site want to be setted like our demo you can upload the json file at these option
2. Or if you already have one site and want to make or manage the other to have the same settings as you did at your first site. You can download the export file (json file) and upload it to your another site then it will have the same settings
